Week in Review

WOAHHHHHHH is anyone still out there? I vowed to keep this thing up and I did REALLY good for a while and lately…well, in all honesty, life has hit me–HARD. This last week has brought a little sunshine so I thought I would share via Clean Eats, Fast Feets in a Week in Review!

So……A week ago I was in New Orleans with my sister. Bucket list item for me AND our first “sisters” trip with no kids!

About half way to the airport I realized I forgot to pack a book 😦  I used to read books in a weekend but then I became a working mom and that went out the window!  I can always get through a book when I travel–that is when I remember to bring one and what really sucks is I have a bookcase full of books I want to read at home :\  Anyhoo…I looked up one of the first bloggers I started to follow years ago for her book list because she always seemed to have some good ones on there…I found this, which turned out to be fantastic!  Thank you to Julie over at Peanut Butter Fingers for this great pick!



Take off is my favorite LOL–anyone else fascinated with clouds?  I always take a few pics of them.  Just for me 😀

I flew Delta on the way out and I’m definitely giving them a thumbs up!  Well really I just fly them for the cookies ha!


But why does the coffee ALWAYS taste like pond water??????  I usually don’t drink it but they had the AC set at like -14 no lie!  I flew American on the way home–sorry guys but thumbs down on that one and I believe it’s been a while since I’ve flown on one of their flights.  #deltaalltheway

I ate my packed meals but ventured over to the food court in search of something green LOL and I have to say, I was impressed with the much larger variety of “healthier” stuff–this power salad was amazing!  Coupled with my trusty MaxMuscle protein I had a great airport meal–by the way this is my new favorite flavor and yes I brought the whole bag with me 🙂

Raining when we arrived but our next four days were absolutely perfect!  There was a food festival going on——–HELLO that’s why I came!  Absolutely amazing.  I don’t drink much but…while in NOLA…


I think I had a headache more than half the time I was there.  No idea *shrugs*

Bourbon Street was something to see during the day but even more so at night…


Oh the things you see………………………

We hit all the hot spots, ate all the food, drank, danced (lots shared on my Facebook and Instagram) and a blast.  I was sad when it came to an end ;-(


I arrived home safely with no issues and of course vacation is always fun but there’s no place like home!

Week In Review

Good morning and happy Monday!  I love a Monday and a fresh start to a new week!

But first, a recap … and a thank you to Clean Eats Fast Feets for the link up!

So last Monday was a holiday…one in which I am pretty sure I amounted to nothing spectacular.  I did however manage to sneak Five Guys burgers and fries (link just in case you have never heard of this–apparently there are people who haven’t!) into my son’s school for he and a friend.  Yes, sneak.  Apparently, you are not allowed to bring in food from the outside but he says “other moms” do it all the time <

I baked cupcakes.  From a box :O  I can’t remember the last time I did that but damn Betty Crocker knows what’s up!  I will admit the taste was a bit ummmm different?


I finally bought some NuNaturals NuStevia Cocoa Syrup.  ISH IS EXPENSIVE!  I’ve always made protein “fluff” at night and used Walden Farms chocolate syrup (chemical syrup as my son calls it) and I heard lots of good things about this stuff.  First try–I loved it!  Used half the bottle–ok not really LOL.  Second time…meh…not as impressed?  Ever try something and think it’s wonderful and then once you settle down and reallllllly examine it, not so much?  Kind of like them men in my life HAHAHA!  Just kidding 😉

This month’s protein fluff brought to you by Optimum Nutrition: Chocolate Mint.  I never buy mint stuff but needed a change.  Badly.  I loved chocolate cake batter but can no longer find it and the chocolate is just not the same 😦  I also impulse bought this:


Not bad but wouldn’t buy again.  Also ya know if you add a few mini York peppermint patties it’s fantastic!  Not that I would know 😉

I stocked up on some supplements.  I will be curious to see if my use of Citrus Bergamot and Krill Oil have helped my cholesterol.  As good as I eat and exercise, my cholesterol in the in the shitter!  I don’t know of any family issues but I also don’t know my father’s side.  So, I’m just trying to keep up on my good fats and some supplements I have researched and had others give props to.

Follow up on my Skulpt Collagen Peptides I got from my local MaxMuscle.  I said I’d report in after 30 days.  I’m halfway there.  I’m just amazed I’ve remembered to take it every day but one!  If you live in Fayetteville be sure to go over and check it out–tell Bill I sent you!  Oh, I also picked up some more pumpkin spice protein–and made a protein cheesecake.  It is chilling in the fridge as we speak!

I managed to have a good week nutrition wise.  My training however is just MEH.  Or it was until Saturday.  I finally had a fantastic leg workout.  Must have been the extra food on Friday. #Oreosforthewin #don’ttellmycoach  Food IS fuel!!!

I made a trip to Fresh Market.  I wanted one to come to town so bad and I think I have been 3 times.  And they have been open over a year.  Soooo expensive!  But the food…oh and the samples 😉  I bought a few treats but I’ll save those for WIAW so I can try some of them.

I had a few plans for the weekend.  None of which panned out.  It was still a great weekend although I did blow half my macros on Starbucks yesterday!  They had a new frappuccino–Dark Mocha–I love dark and I love mocha!  I did almond milk and no whip and didn’t get the big one (like I usually do) but as I suspected, I got home, looked up the info aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand had chicken and veggies for dinner.  Oh well.  YOLO.  My son got the salted caramel frap with everything and I had a sip…oh my!!!!!!!  Definitely good.

Thursdays are for Thinking Out Loud

Hi!!!!!!!!  It’s Thursday and I’ve had my clothes off twice before noon today.  I’d say it has been a good day!  HA, not for the reasons all of you are thinking!!!!!!! 😛

Started off my day with day with my body fat testing in the BodPod.  I wrote about this once before >here.  Let’s just say it went a little better.  I’m still feeling WAY behind but this is normal.  Check-ins with my coach are tomorrow and I’m thinking I may have a carbless, cardioful weekend 😦  That’s ok.. Whatever it takes, right?

Round #2 (clothes off) Off to a visit to my dermatologist who I see once a year–because I’m a pasty white Irish girl with TONS of freckles! Unfortunately, this did not go as well as I had hoped. Had a few things cut out of my back and sent off to the lab. Pray for me ya’ll! Two years ago I had to have some treatments that were not fun, expensive, and threw me into a bit of a depression. Hoping for a better outcome this time!  If you have spent any time doing bad things to your skin (tanning bed, sun with no protection, smoking, tons of freckles<<not bad, just a part of life) you should get checked!!!

In other news………I made brownies!!!!!!!

Don’t get too excited.  They were a BIG FAT FAIL!  DRY AF!  Have to share the failures as much as the success stories, right?

Although I’m in prep, I also booked a photo shoot.  I’m excited.  I haven’t done much lately and this is going to be at a park…hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can do a fall theme–complete with cowgirl boots, flannel and denim cutoffs 😉

Today feels like Friday.  I’m looking forward to tomorrow.  And the weekend.  Going to be a busy one for me.  Anyone have any exciting plans???  Tell me something good!
