Happy Monday!

So this seems to be a thing with me…I get inspired to write on Mondays…and I love Mondays–I’m that kind of person 😉 Soooo let’s just go with it, shall we?

I actually had the urge to write yesterday but it was such a beautiful day so I chose to soak up a little sunshine and do some reading. I think my urge to write is sometimes inspired by my motivations an I was motivated yesterday! I think I may have mentioned my plan to return to Miami to hopefully redeem myself at Nationals. Well, yesterday there was notification of a contest for coverage of your entry fee for female bodybuilders–that’s $350! That’s HUGE! They have been doing some incredible things lately to save female bodybuilding and I couldn’t be happier! The best part about this was all the friends I had tagging me, mentioning me, message me like—they believe in me? They think I’m worthy of giving it another shot? As we say in the South, “bless their hearts”! And this made my heart full for the rest of the day ❤

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and have a magnificent Monday!

Pumpkin Bread

OK I admittedly may be a little early for the pumpkin stuff but this is an all time favorite and was requested for a function at work so I thought it would be a great time to share here.  Very simple and nutritious!

pumpkin bread

1/2 cup almond butter

1 can pumpkin

1 banana, mashed

1/4 cup maple syrup

2 eggs

3 tbsp coconut flour

1/2 tbsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/8 tsp ground cloves

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

pinch of salt

Mix wet ingredients first,  then add dry and mix until combined.  Line a bread pan w/parchment paper.  Pour in batter and bake 45 min at 350.

That’s it!  Oh–I promise my photography will get better–I may have a little help soon 😉

So it’s been a minute since I’ve been here…

Hi folks!  It has been far too long since I’ve gotten back to this.  I last wrote in November…on my way to Miami.  Let’s just say that didn’t go well LOL.

So, instead, let’s talk about the future or maybe the past–yikes–8 months!  I’ve been attempting a successful off-season (translation: trying not to get too chubby), traveling, being incredibly busy (and bored, let’s be real) at work.  Teaching my teenager to drive.  I must note since finishing driver’s education he has become an incredibly annoying backseat driver!

Summer is here in NC and it is HOT but I love it.  I’ve started prep for my next show…the plan is to head back to Miami and attempt to redeem myself.  I hope you will follow my journey which will be real, and raw.  I also want to get back to my food stuff (I’ve got an oldie but a goodie under the fun page coming later today) and my fitness stuff but not just bodybuilding because fitness is so much more.  Maybe we can chat about some specific topics?  Please let me know if you have ideas.  Hoping to do a bit more traveling this summer which is my idea of fun so although not extravagant travels, I hope to share my road trips and of course, my FOOD!

Thanks for stopping by and I intend to provide enough content on a consistent <<see what I did there 🙂 basis.  So hopefully I can entertain, share knowledge and ideas and maybe inspire those of you interested in fitness, food or just a bit of fun!
